Kirti Prakash

Kirti did his MSc in Computer Science at Aalto University (Finland) and PhD in Biology at Heidelberg University (Germany). During his PhD, he developed a new method to image DNA which led to the first high-resolution images of meiotic chromosomes. This earned him several awards including Springer Best PhD Thesis Prize.

Post-PhD, he worked at Carnegie Institution for Science (USA), University of Cambridge (UK), and National Physical Laboratory (UK).

Within the IPU, Kirti leads the computational team working on immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridisation, and multiplex experiments. He aspires to be an inventor and develop new imaging tools for cancer biology.
